Our consultants provide in depth support to help companies internationalise their business through overseas partner and technology searches and strategic alliances such as , joint ventures, acquisitions, licensing or setting up overseas subsidiaries.
We work hand in hand with our clients throughout project implementation, from initial planning, through negotiations and finally the forming of contract agreements, working on the ground in the international locations of our client’s projects.
The services available include:
Market expansion: We work closely with clients to develop the most appropriate strategies to enter the target market. Successful strategies require sound commercial experience and an understanding of the latest international legal requirements, trading regulations, tax strategy and financial planning.
Strategic review: We will provide a thorough review of our client’s overseas strategies highlighting strengths and weaknesses, paying particular attention to the risks involved to their IP. We will also examine capabilities and resources to successfully implement and support their strategies through to successful completion.
Implementation: Our way of implementing projects on behalf of companies ensures they benefit from expertise both on the ground in the country of their collaboration, as well as on every aspect of the project. Support provided depends on the nature of the selected strategy but can include the following;
- Due diligence on international partners and assets such as land and buildings to ensure legal compliance
- Assisting in all negotiations concerned with achieving the project objectives
- Drafting and reviewing of all agreements and contracts associated with implementing the strategy safely in foreign jurisdictions
- Handling all agreement or company registration procedures in line with foreign market requirements
- Ensuring effective IP protection is woven into the project from a legal and physical perspective
- Tax planning for compliance and relief to maximize profit repatriation
Aftercare: We will also support our clients as they start to manage their projects, providing assistance with any initial start up problems or monitoring the performance of their contractual agreements. This could include;
- Attendance at project meetings
- Clarification of legal requirements
- Updating of legal and regulatory changes
- Advice on the implications of changes to the nature of their project
- Dispute resolution
