Originally a spin-out of the University of Newcastle, RTC North has worked extensively with the knowledge economy since its inception in 1989.
Set up to transfer technology from research bodies out into industry, the company has maintained its strong links with the research base and five Northern Universities are represented on its Board of Directors.
With 20 years experience in helping companies access European Union funding for research and development, the company has secured £100m of investment for Northern companies investing in R&D.
Involved in the set up of 60 spin-out companies, we have particular expertise in securing the growth of research led businesses. Whether working on business planning, patent protection or on securing extra finance we have a proven track record in nurturing new leading edge companies.
Our success in accessing European funding for R&D, has resulted in being chosen as regional delivery partner for the European Commission (EC) projects designed to encourage participation in successive Framework programmes.
Since 1995, RTC North has delivered EC projects in four regions of the UK and since the start of FP7 ran specialist support services in Yorkshire and the North West.
